811 contacts participating utilities to mark the lines they own. Follow the dashed routes from the street to each service handoff.
WHO MARKS WHAT?

811 marks the utility’s lines.
TREPIC locates the lines you own.

The difference is who owns the line, not whether it is in your yard.

Dashed = 811 marks it. Lines owned by participating utilities, up to their ownership handoff.

Solid = TREPIC locates it. Detectable customer-owned lines beyond that handoff. 811 does not mark these.

*A typical water example. Handoff points vary by utility. Private power to a casita or EV charger and gas to a BBQ or pool heater also need a private locate.

Ownership matters, not the property line. This is an example; utility ownership and line detectability vary.

TREPIC LOCATING / 02

811 marks utility-owned lines. We locate yours.

Call Arizona 811 first. Participating utilities mark the facilities they own, including service lines that may enter your property. Their responsibility ends at the ownership handoff, often a meter or service connection. Customer-owned lines beyond that point need a private locate. Think water from your meter to the house, gas to a BBQ or pool heater, and private power or data to a casita. That is where TREPIC comes in.

811 marks utility-owned lines. Customer-owned connections need a separate locate.

Call 811 first, then book us. You need both.

    Honest about what's possible

We use professional electromagnetic locating equipment. It finds metal lines, lines carrying power or signal, and plastic lines that have tracer wire. Plastic pipe without tracer wire, which is common on older plastic lines, may not be detectable. Very deep lines and heavy caliche can also limit any locator. If we can't confirm a line, we'll tell you on site. Marks are approximate, so always hand dig within 24 inches of any mark.

    TREPIC LOCATING / 09

    We cover the whole Valley.

Maricopa and Pinal counties. Private locating wherever you dig.

    A little more clarity.

Do I still need to call 811?

Yes. Arizona law requires it and it's free. Call 811 or file online at least two full working days before you dig, and book us at the same time. 811 covers the utility owned lines. We cover the private ones.

    What does 811 not mark?

Anything past the utility's meter: water and sewer lines to the house, gas to grills and heaters, power to outbuildings, landscape and gate lighting, and private cable between buildings.

    How much does it cost?

$250 includes the first two hours. After that, each additional hour or part of an hour adds $125, only with your OK. For example, 2 hours 10 minutes costs $375, 3 hours costs $375, and 3 hours 10 minutes costs $500. No travel fee anywhere in the Valley.

How soon can you come out?

Usually within one to two business days. Choose a preferred date and time on the calendar. Our team will call to confirm availability.

Do I need to be home?

Not required if we can reach the dig area. Leave gate codes and pet notes in the booking.

    Can you find plastic pipe?

If it has tracer wire, yes. Plastic without tracer wire may not be detectable with our equipment, and we'll tell you on site if we can't confirm a line.

It's just a few fence posts. Do I really need a locate?

A post hole can hit a gas or electric line as easily as a pool dig can. One locate costs far less than one broken line.

    Do you dig or pothole?

No. We locate and mark. We don't excavate.

    Do you work with contractors?

Yes. Pool, fence, landscape and solar crews can request a callback below for recurring scheduling.
